Suggested nameOpibaces
Planet typeLarge cold gas giant
Opibaces is the fourth planet from YSES 2 and the second-smallest planet in its solar system.

Opibaces is the oldest planet known belonging to YSES 2 and one of the smallest in its solar system. It is the coldest planetary atmosphere in its solar system, with a minimum temperature of 50°K (-223°C), and has a complex, layered cloud structure with carbon dioxide thought to make up the lowest clouds, and nitric oxide the uppermost layer of clouds. This large cold gas giant is named after the deity Opibaces, the demon of nature.

Opibaces's surface appears heavily scarred and is similar in appearance to the Moon's, indicating that it has been geologically inactive for billions of years.

In 3476, images from Wayfinder 4 showed Opibaces as an almost featureless planet in visible light, without the cloud bands or storms associated with the other large cold gas giants.
