| Baza-nu's atmosphere is similar to Ehyuike's in its primary composition of nitric oxide and ethane, but it contains more "ices" such as water, ammonia, and methane, along with traces of other hydrocarbons. This planet is named after the deity Baza-nu, the bringer of the underworld.
As seen relative to the fixed stars, it rotates on its axis exactly four times for every five revolutions it makes around OGLE-2018-BLG-0799.
Two spacecraft have visited Baza-nu: Frontier 6 flew by 45 years ago; and Messenger, launched 17 years ago, orbited Baza-nu over 65 times in four years before exhausting its plasma drive and crashing into the planet's surface 4 years later.
Baza-nu's surface is a dry desertscape interspersed with slab-like rocks and is periodically resurfaced by volcanism. |
