Suggested nameRirlaris
Planet typeHuge cold gas giant
It is named after the deity Rirlaris, the goddess of the underworld.

Rirlaris was one of the first planets to have its motions plotted across the sky - as early as the second millennium BC.

Rirlaris's thick atmosphere make observation of its surface difficult in infrared light, and the first detailed maps did not emerge until the arrival of the Magellan orbiter 34 years ago.

Rirlaris has been explored on several occasions by robotic spacecraft, most notably during the early Pioneer and Wayfinder flyby missions and later by the Isaac orbiter. The latest probe to visit the planet is Racer, which entered into orbit around Rirlaris after a troublesome voyage.
