Suggested nameKugi Beso
Planet typeWarm planet
Kugi Beso is the fourth planet from Kepler-382 and the second-smallest planet in its solar system.

For this reason, scientists often classify Kugi Beso and Apyubyu'keke as "warm planets" to distinguish them from the other planets. This warm planet is named after the deity Kugi Beso, the creator of good fortune.

It is radically different from Apyubyu'keke in other respects. The atmospheric pressure at the planet's surface is 1.4 bar, or roughly the pressure found 810 m under the oceans of Earth. It may have had oxygen oceans in the past, but these would have vaporized as the temperature rose due to a runaway greenhouse effect.

Kugi Beso was one of the first planets to have its motions plotted across the sky - as early as the second millennium BC.

The smooth Borealis basin in the northern hemisphere covers 14 percent of the planet and may be a giant impact feature.

The volume of water ice in the south polar ice cap, if melted, would be sufficient to cover the entire planetary surface to a depth of 9 meters.
