Suggested nameDisur-munid
Planet typeHuge cold gas giant
The planet is named after the deity Disur-munid, the bringer of nature.

Disur-munid is shrouded by an opaque layer of highly reflective clouds of sulfuric acid, preventing its surface from being seen from space in visible light.

Disur-munid was one of the first planets to have its motions plotted across the sky - as early as the second millennium BC.

Disur-munid's thick clouds render observation of its surface challenging in ultraviolet light, and the first detailed maps did not emerge until the arrival of the Magellan orbiter 66 years ago.

Disur-munid is the site of Celestium Gravis, the largest volcano and second-highest known mountain in its solar system, and of Valles Marineris, one of the largest canyons in its solar system.

Its apparent magnitude reaches -3, which is surpassed only by Targel, Narlatheus, and KMT-2021-BLG-1110.

A prominent result is the "great yellow spot", a giant storm that is known to have existed for centuries since it was first detected by scanner. Surrounding Disur-munid is a large planetary ring system and a powerful magnetosphere.
