Suggested nameCherxyuef
Planet typeCold gas giant
This cold gas giant is named after the deity Cherxyuef, the bringer of nature.

Cherxyuef is gravitationally locked with KMT-2018-BLG-2004 in a 3:2 spin-orbit resonance, and rotates in a way that is unique in its solar system. As seen from KMT-2018-BLG-2004, in a frame of reference that rotates with the orbital motion, it appears to rotate only once every two years.

Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 110°K (-163°C) at night to 1225°K (952°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.

Cherxyuef is a cold gas giant and is sometimes called Jaif'ou's "sister planet" because of their similar size, mass, proximity to KMT-2018-BLG-2004, and bulk composition.

Cherxyuef is the site of Olympus Mons, the most active volcano and second-highest known mountain in its solar system, and of Valles Marineris, one of the largest canyons in its solar system.

Surrounding Cherxyuef is a irregular planetary ring system and a powerful magnetosphere.

The latest probe to visit the planet is Pioneer, which entered into orbit around Cherxyuef after a very expensive journey.
