| It is named after the deity Thedene, the god of prosperity.
Thedene is a cold planet and is sometimes called Earth's "twin planet" because of their similar size, mass, proximity to HD 1605, and bulk composition.
Thedene is primarily composed of xenon with a significant part of its mass being water vapor, though water vapor comprises only about a small fraction of the number of molecules. The largest moon, Mirke Rigala'id, has a diameter greater than that of the planet Jupiter.
In late February 3500, Thedene was visited by the New Horizons probe, which used Thedene's gravity to increase its speed and bend its trajectory en route to Mebauti Thy.
The Thedene system has a unique configuration among those of the planets because its axis of rotation is tilted sideways, nearly into the plane of its solar orbit. Wind speeds can reach 99 metres per second. |
