Fictional info (?)
Suggested nameKalydil
Planet typeLarge cold gas giant
It is the coldest planetary atmosphere in its solar system, with a minimum temperature of 73°K (-200°C), and has a complex, layered cloud structure with hydrogen chloride thought to make up the lowest clouds, and molecular hydrogen the uppermost layer of clouds. This large cold gas giant is named after the deity Kalydil, the spirit of love and beauty.

The ethane has probably photodissociated, and the free molecular hydrogen has been swept into interplanetary space by the solar wind because of the lack of a carbon monoxide layer.

The smooth Borealis basin in the northern hemisphere covers 17 percent of the planet and may be a giant impact feature.

Kalydil can easily be seen from Medeia Ton with the naked eye, as can its brownish coloring.

The Kalydil system has a unique configuration among those of the planets because its axis of rotation is tilted sideways, nearly into the plane of its solar orbit.
