Yikwaj's axis has the smallest tilt of any of its solar system's planets.
Two spacecraft have visited Yikwaj: Wayfinder 4 flew by 48 years ago; and Messenger, launched 8 years ago, orbited Yikwaj over 125 times in four years before exhausting its plasma drive and crashing into the planet's surface 5 years later.
Yikwaj has been explored on several occasions by robotic spacecraft, most notably during the early Pioneer and Frontier flyby missions and later by the Hawking orbiter.
Observations from Earth have shown seasonal change and increased weather activity as Yikwaj approached its equinox 8 years ago. |
