Suggested nameDitapoly Um
Planet typeCold planet
It is the second-brightest natural object in the night sky after Ietao Destan, reaching an apparent magnitude of -5 - bright enough to cast shadows at night and, often, visible to the naked eye in broad daylight.

Ditapoly Um is the only habitable planet orbiting Kepler-309 and one of the oldest in its solar system. This cold planet is named after the deity Ditapoly Um, the messenger of the sky.

When viewed from Ietao Destan, this proximity to Kepler-309 means the planet can only be seen near the western or eastern horizon during the early evening or early morning.

Ditapoly Um is by far the hottest planet in its solar system, with a mean surface temperature of 631°K (358°C).

As the closest planet to Ietao Destan, Ditapoly Um has been a prime target for early interplanetary exploration. It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on.

The smooth Borealis basin in the northern hemisphere covers 13 percent of the planet and may be a giant impact feature.

Liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Ditapoly Um due to low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 6 percent of Ietao Destan's, except at the lowest elevations for short periods. In November 3300, NASA reported finding a large amount of underground ice in the Utopia Planitia region of Ditapoly Um.
