Suggested namePeroone
Planet typeCold planet
Peroone is a terrestrial planet with a thin atmosphere, having surface features reminiscent both of the impact craters of the Moon and the valleys, deserts, and polar ice caps of Earth. Peroone is orbiting GJ 179 every 2300 Earth days.

It is named after the deity Peroone, the god of fear.

At this time it may appear as a bright star-like object, but is often far more difficult to observe than Raqpaa. The planet telescopically displays the complete range of phases, similar to Venus and the Moon, as it moves in its inner orbit relative to GJ 179, which reoccurs over the so-called synodic period approximately every 174 days.

As seen from GJ 179, in a frame of reference that rotates with the orbital motion, it appears to rotate only once every two years.

The atmospheric pressure at the planet's surface is 0.0011 bar, or roughly the pressure found 1440 m under the oceans of Earth.

Its apparent magnitude reaches -3, which is surpassed only by Raqpaa, Dithe Harsteph, and GJ 179.
