Figuring out how to use it wasn't quite easy though, because of the very odd range the knobs have. Especially the frequency knobs behave in a very suboptimal way: Typically the first half of the range produce subsonic audio (which is not audible), then the bass and middle area are within a few degrees. The rest is a very high pitch. This makes adjusting the frequency very tricky. You have to be careful not to hit the knob, or the frequency will change a lot.

This is very hard to avoid because all the on/off switches are placed too close to the knobs, again making using the device quite troublesome.

The third huge problem with this device is the extremely loud noise level. Having a bit of noise is to be expected from an analog device, but this one is unacceptably noisy.

Finally there's the price tag: A whopping 1490 euro is at least twice as much as I could ever imagine spending on a device with this many problems. If this product is to be a success, they have to lower the price to less than half, or resolve all of the above problems to make it a really professionally feeling experience.]]>

Hover recently reported having found fossilised cyanobacteria in meteorites. And why would they bother to do the five minute background check, if the result was losing a good news flash. Personally I had my doubts when this was reported. Would such an important finding be reported by one single scientist rather than being presented by NASA or such organization, if it was really verified and confirmed? Would the initial source of such a dramatic finding be a website I had never heard about? Well, it seems various articles are beginning to question this as well.]]> Wed, 9 Mar 2011 13:29:47 +0100 <![CDATA["Joachip is always offline on MSN"]]> http://www.robotplanet.dk/blog/?id=325

Becaye spent his childhood in Dakar, Senegal, and it was here he first laid his hands on a guitar. Becaye is largely self-taught. After learning elementary guitar-technique from a Serere musician, he went on to develop his own style, listening to recordings and to the radio. His African approach to guitar tuning and his way of playing the instrument result in a sound similar to the kora.]]> Fri, 19 Nov 2010 21:00:00 +0100
